However, j£ the patient presses on their eyeballs with their warm fingers and finds this uncomfortable, use 77.08-77.09 Four Flower Upper/ Four Flower Middle instead. • Macular degeneration: 55.02 Flower Bone One, 77.18 Kidney Gate (Shen Guan) with 77.28 Bright Light (Tung' s KD7), GB20 Feng Chi, GB37 Guang Ming. • Optic nerve atrophy: 55.02 Flower Bone One, 77.18 Kidney Gate (Shen Guan) with 77.28 Bright Light (Tung's KD7), GB20 Feng Chi, GB37 Guang Ming. • Miscellaneous eye diseases (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, night blindness, eye inflammation, photophobia, trachoma and eyelid infection): 55.02 Flower Bone One, 77.18 Kidney Gate (Shen Guan) with 77.28 Bright Light (Tung' s KD7), GB20 Feng Chi, GB37 Guang Ming. 55.03 Flower Bone Two - Hua Gu Er:- 55.04 Flower Bone Three - Hua Gu San:- ????? 55.05 Flower Bone Four - Hua Gu Si:- • Bulging discs, LS-S1 hinge: Bilaterally needle 55.04 Flower Bone Three, 55.05 Flower Bone Four; needle 1010.25 State Water. • Tailbone pain: Bilaterally needle 55.04-55.05 Flower Bone Three/Flower Bone Four. This is the best treatment; however, if it is not convenient: Unilaterally or bilaterally needle 33.12 Heart Gate (males on the left, females on the right, or needle bilaterally if one side is not enough); needle 1010.01 Uprightness Meeting (DU20), 1010.06 Posterior Meeting (DU19); bilaterally needle 66.01 Seal. • Numbness of the legs and feet: 55.04-55.05 Flower Bone Three/Flower Bone Four treat the entire leg as well as numbness of the legs and feet. During treatment, typically the numbness gives way to tingling and then the tingling goes away (Dr. Lee, 1992). 55.06 Upper Tumor - Shang Liu:- • Brain tumor: Alternate between the two variations of 55.06 Upper Tumor, combined with either 77.05-77.07 Three Weights or 77.27 Outer Three Gates. • Brain tumor with severe weakness or deficiency: 66.10 Fire Connection, 66.11 Fire Chrysanthemum (SP4), 66.12 Fire Scatter (KD2), needled opposite or one side only. 55.06 Upper Tumor may be added on the same side as the needles above. • Acute concussion or severe occipital headache: 55.06 Upper Tumor, 77.01-77.02 Correct Tendons. • Epilepsy (excess type): People who have seizures in tl1e early morning hours have excess-type epilepsy. Needle 55.06 Upper Tumor, needle or bleed 77.08-77.09 Four Flower Upper/Four Flower Middle or 77.05-77.07 Three Weights. • Epilepsy ( deficient type): People who have seizures in the late afternoon have deficient-type epilepsy. Needle 55.06 Upper Tumor with Dr. Miriam Lee's Ten Great Needles Treatment (bilateral ST36, SP6, Lill, Ll4, LU7, in that order; tonify the bottom and sedate the top). • Meningitis: 55.06 Upper Tumor 77.01-77.02 Correct Tendons, bleed DT.17 Up-Shooting Heaven or UB40 Wei Zhong. If you suspect the patient has meningitis (high fever, stiff neck, extreme headache), immediately refer them to the emergency room for a spinal tap to confirm the diagnosis. • Insomnia (severe): For severe insomnia or insomnia with a headache, use a needle with 7 to 9 moxa balls (use 7 for men; use 9 for women) on a point located in the center of the heel (approximately 1.0 cun proximal to 55.06 Upper Tumor). • Blood stagnation headaches: 55.06 Upper Tumor is particularly useful in treating headache or brain tumor with nausea and vomiting, especially when these occur at night. Stagnation-type headaches may increase when the patient lies still, and they are often worse between 3-5 a.m. • Bleeding: For severe headache and brain tumor, also consider bleeding Tai Yang, UB40 Wei Zhong, 77.05-77.07 Three Weights or 77.14 Four Flower Outer (Tung' s ST40).
